Gerritsen Logistics takes next step in digital freight documentation

At Gerritsen Logistics, we continuously invest in smarter and more efficient ways of working. As the logistics sector evolves, digitalisation plays a key role in improving transparency, reliability and operational efficiency. That’s why we have taken an important step towards the use of e-CMR digital freight notes, with support from Midpoint Brabant and the Brabant Data Economy (BDE) voucher programme.

From paper-based processes to digital efficiency

To further streamline our logistics operations, we are preparing the implementation of e-CMR — the digital alternative to traditional paper consignment notes. Together with our technology partner Collect+Go, we are working towards a solution that reduces administrative handling while increasing data accuracy and real-time insight. Digital freight documentation brings several advantages:

  • Reduced paperwork and administrative burden
  • Lower risk of errors associated with manual data entry
  • Real-time insight into transport data and processes

“Thanks to the support of Midpoint Brabant, we can now launch this initiative in a well-structured manner. It allows us to work more effectively in digital environments and serve our customers even better,” says Aryan van Zoest of Gerritsen Logistics

A structured and practical approach

We believe that successful digitalisation starts with a clear plan. Together with Collect+Go, we are implementing e-CMR through a structured, phased approach:

  • Technical integration of systems via APIs
  • Registration with relevant regulatory authorities
  • Development of user guides and documentation
  • Preparation and training for end-users

By carefully aligning digital processes with our existing workflows, we ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved.

People at the centre of digitalisation

For us, digital transformation is not just about technology — it’s about people. Our drivers, warehouse staff and planners are actively involved throughout the process. Their practical input helps us create solutions that are intuitive, workable and sustainable in day-to-day operations.

This people-centred approach ensures that digitalisation strengthens our organisation without disrupting what already works well. The move towards e-CMR fits within our broader ambition to future-proof our logistics services while maintaining the high standards our customers expect from us.
